Gateway Legacy Holdings
A long-term home for essential American businesses. We acquire and operate established industrial distribution, light manufacturing, and facility-services businesses that serve essential industries. We are not a fund, and we do not flip what we buy. We buy one business at a time, take a long-term view, and work alongside the teams already in place to make good companies better. If you have built something durable and are thinking about what comes next, we would welcome a conversation.
About Us
Gateway Legacy Holdings LLC is led by Devon Whittier, who spent over a decade managing multi-billion-dollar programs and procurement portfolios across e-commerce, chemicals, automotive, and robotics industries. That experience shaped a conviction that small, well-run industrial businesses are one of the most durable platforms for long-term compounding — and that they deserve to be owned by operators who take stewardship seriously. We believe that good businesses outlast clever financing. Operational discipline compounds; financial engineering does not. We also believe that the people who built a company are usually the people best positioned to explain what makes it work. Your business deserves more than just a buyer; it deserves an operator who will honor what you've built while taking it to new heights. What we look for
Essential, cash-generative B2B/B2G businesses with:
- $500K–$2M in seller’s discretionary earnings (SDE)
- Recurring or repeat-revenue customers
- Strong teams in place
- Operating for 7+ years
- Fundamentally sound but operationally under-optimized
- Headquarters within ~75 miles of a major U.S. metro
Why sell to us
- Continuity. We retain teams, honor customer commitments, and protect the brand you built.
- Stewardship. We plan to own what we acquire for the long-term.
- Speed and simplicity. Clean offers. Clear process. No surprises.
- Respect. For you, your time, and your legacy. For your employees, customers, and community.
About Devon
Before starting Gateway Legacy Holdings LLC, I spent over a decade leading procurement, supply-chain, and corporate strategy at some of the largest companies in the world, where I managed billions of dollars of spend across industrial, energy, and B2B service categories. That work convinced me of two things. First, small and mid-sized businesses are the operational backbone of almost every supply chain I touched — and most of them are better than the people buying from them realize. Second, the best owners of those businesses are people who intend to stay. How I think about this work
Three values guide how I run Gateway Equity Holdings LLC:
(1) Kindness. Sellers, brokers, employees, customers, and suppliers all deserve to be treated with respect, especially in a transaction as personal as a business sale.
(2) Transparency. No hidden terms, no games, no surprises at closing.
(3) Fortitude. The work of improving a business is slow and undramatic. I am here for the long version of that work. What I am looking for
One essential, cash-generative B2B/B2G business — in industrial distribution, light manufacturing, or facility services — where the current owner has built something real and is thinking about the next chapter. I plan to operate the business personally, stabilize and improve operations, and grow it carefully over the next decade.I currently live in New York and spend my time looking for one good business to buy and operate. If you are an owner, broker, lender, or operator who shares this orientation, I would be glad to hear from you.
